The flaming heart, shining with divine light

The flame and fire on the Sacred Heart of Jesus indicate the divine virtues He possess. Even if Jesus was the treasure house of all virtues, blessings, gifts and fruits that any human could possess, still if He was not aflame in divinity our salvation would have been impossible.

Though our Divine Savior took human form, He is truly God and also man. So all His human actions, sufferings and deeds have a divine nature in itself. When we see the Sacred Heart of our Savior, we recognize Him as truly human .But the flaming heart, shining with divine light teaches us that He is truly God. God appeared to Moses in the burning bush and said,” I am the God of your father. I have witnessed the affliction of my people in Egypt. Therefore I have come down to rescue them.” The flaming Heart of Jesus proclaims much powerful love than this since it burns eternally till the end of the world unlike the bush that burned only for a short while. Here there is no representation, but God himself takes human form and comes down. He comes down not to save a selected people, but the whole mankind. He was not on a short mission, but to give eternal life and to flood us with abundance of grace. How can you not love such a graceful heart! Now let us contemplate the divine light on the flaming heart. Darkness is an element and ownership of Satan and causes melancholy and pain. Whereas light is a share of heavenly bliss, and brings about cheer and happiness. Hence Satan is called the “Lord of Darkness” and heavenly spirits are called” Sons of Light”. Since they are removed far off from divine grace there always exist darkness among” Lord of Darkness”.Whereas the “Sons of Light” glow in heavenly grace and charisma. This heavenly glory and grace of all heavenly hosts is the Son of God, Jesus Christ. His divine glow illumines the sky and shines on the darkness of earthly beings. Prophet Malachi acknowledges Jesus as ‘the sun of justice’ (3:20).

Jesus himself said,” I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”(John 8:12). St. John testifies in his gospel that “What came to be through him was life, and this life was the light of the human race.” (John1:4) You devoted souls! The fire and flame on the heart of Jesus declares His divinity, and charity for us. This divine light is the glow of heavenly host and the beam that beckons mankind from the darkness of this world to the spiritual radiance of heaven. Faithful! If you follow the divine teachings of Christ, then you will be able to adore His divinity in heaven and imbued in celestial glory sing about His endless mercy.

O ‘Divine Sun’ Jesus, who mesmerizes the sky! I adore You.

Delight of the heavenly hosts! Light! I love You.

Heart of Jesus, aflame with love for us! Christ! Look kindly upon my soul embedded in darkness and sin. Bless me Lord, to know Your infinite majesty, divine love and inflame our hearts with love for You. Jesus! My light and my glow! Efface my heart of darkness, brighten me, drench me in Your blood and sanctify me.

Grant to Your Church, O Lord, assurance of freedom, protect our Supreme Pontiff and make haste that all may know the haven of truth, and have unity of faith, so that there may soon be one fold and one Shepherd! Lord, be merciful to the unfortunate sinners, console the souls in Purgatory and be merciful to me, your unworthy servant. O Immaculate Heart of Mary, O Mother of all blessings, I firmly believe that through your powerful intercession, all my prayers and petitions will be granted. Amen
